Northbrook Cycle Committee

Tuesday, October 16, 2006

Village Green

7:00 p.m.

ATTENDANCE:

Present: Aram Bayzaee, Marc Colbert, David Fowkes, Mike Ferren, Steve Goldberg, Chris Mailing, Marcus Moore, Stacie Marx, Franco Panveno, Manfred Ray, Carl Wilkins.

GENERAL: 2006-2007 elections; Treasurer and PR positions open; Steve Goldberg will put candidate, Suri and Marc Colbert in touch to discuss treasurer position.

Future NCC Board meetings to be held 3rd Thursday of the month.

REPORTS OF OFFICERS:

A.        Presidents Report-Aram Bayzaee

            Approval of prior minutes.

            Banquet netted $1,100 from registration and $2,000 from silent auction.

            Zip Wheel is blemished and disposition tbd.

B.         V.P. of Rider Development-Chris Mailing

            Chris is looking for coach for "high school program" and will work with Stacie Marx on marketing. Program to run 4/2/07-5/25/07.

C.        Race Director-Marcus Moore             

            Upgrade policy tabled

            Tentative 2007 race season schedule:

                        Thursday nights: 5/17-9/6

                        Night clinics:

                                    Monday; 4/30/07-8/13/07

                                    Tuesday; 5/15/07-8/28/07 (tentative suggestion per Chris Mailing)

                        High School Program: 4/2-5/25

D.        Government Relations Director's Report-          Mark Harris

            Not in attendance.

            Mark has been in touch with Yoder regarding track repairs.      

E.         Director of Finance and Accounting's Report-Marc Colbert

            $20,000 operating account will be split into an interest bearing account and an account for day-to-day operations.

            Treasurer will now supervise on-line receipts.

            Uncashed 2005 checks to be voided.

            Marc Colbert will assist with transition to new treasurer.

            Marc Colbert will send Steve Golberg 2006 tax letter template for distribution to $250 minimum contributions and sponsors.

F.      Communications Director-Imelda March                      

G.        Public Relations Director-vacant

H.        Sponsorship Director- Steve Goldberg

            Steve to develop "sell" sheet with 3 levels of sponsorship (crowd, race night and board advertising)

            Goal: sell sponsorship for each 2007 racing night.

I.          Secretary-Jim Weaver

            Not in attendance.           

OLD BUSINESS: '07 bike show presence of some degree was discussed and needs to be decided.

            Replacement of red pads TBD by Park District?
